Kelly Dinglasan Minton

I am a self-taught Filipina-American artist and have been painting since childhood. Growing up as a first generation American, I was discouraged from becoming a painter. I painted anyway. I truly believe there is positive energy in everything that surrounds us, and my goal is to capture that beauty and movement. Whether it's a person, a flower, or an inanimate object - everything has life. I strive to identify and connect with this energy and capture this in my work. We all need hope. We all need love. I want to reflect these emotions in my work. These moments of happiness and connection occur every day if we look for them and I hope to capture them in my art.
